Description
ThermaSmart Solar High Temperature Insulation is robust pipe insulation with co-extrued polyfin protection foil, specially designed for solar applications. It has a closed cell structure and remains flexible within the total temperature range of -40° C to +150° C and can take 175°C briefly.
The material is definitely stronger than other traditional elastomeres and has a better resistance against outside influences.

Thermasmart™ Solar Insulation: test data is now available for UV resistance and temperature. Thermasmart™ Solar Insulation can take 150°C consistently and 170°C in bursts. It is made of polyolefin plastic. These very environment friendly materials can be recycled easily, they do not need much energy in the production process and do not release toxic critical gases if burned.
Thermasmart™ Solar Insulation lambda @ 23°C is 0.038WmK. These lambda values are measured on tubes according to EN ISO8497.
The test for UV is conducted over a 1000 hour period with the product being exposed to UV-A for 6 hour periods. The product stay intact throughout the test.
In plain English, it can take up to 170°C and has UV protection.
Applications
Designed for use in Solar hot water systems. ThermaSmart Solar HT™ has excellent insulation properties, high flexibility, resists UV light and many chemicals and oils.
Join with contact adhesive or UV Rated Aqualine Insulation Tape
Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
